Welcome to the 2021 Tool of the Month!

We are excited to launch the second year of our Tool of the Month publication and hope the 2020 tools and resources brought value to you and your Team.

As our work with individuals and organizations now spans several decades we have found value in the following three principles. First, we remain convinced cultural anthropologist Margaret Meade was correct when she stated, “never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world, indeed it is the only thing that ever has!”

Now, as much as anytime in world history, the need for extraordinary leadership in organizations where values, vision and mission have a positive impact is more important than ever.

Second, we also believe growing individuals and teams provides an opportunity for leaders, managers, executives and owners to create environments where people can be and become the best version of themselves each day thus impacting our communities for the better.

Lastly, we are convinced every team is only as strong as it’s individual weakest link. The highest and most critical role and responsibility of leaders, managers, executives and owners is to develop themselves and develop others to reach their fullest potential.

Kim Scott in Radical Candor states, ‘’the most important thing you can do for your team collectively is to understand what growth trajectory each person wants to be on at a given time.”

Leadership and Management Responsibilities are usually added to our role as a Subject Matter Expert in our organization. We are highly skilled and successful at finance, production, operations, sales or technology. We’re “promoted” as a result of our subject matter expertise and we find ourselves responsible for leading and managing others.

At Laura Schanz Consulting Associates, we are passionate about providing SME’s with a framework to help develop themselves and others to strengthen teams and ensure the long term sustainability and success of individuals and organizations.

To that end, we hope, the 2021 Tool of the Month will serve as a resource to you and your Teams as you continue to develop yourselves and develop others and seek to bring out the best in each team member.

We will be walking through a process we’ve identified as the 7 Stages and corresponding Steps of the Team Member Experience Path:

·        Stage 1: Recruiting

·        Stage 2: Hiring

·        Stage 3: Orientation / Onboarding

·        Stage 4: Training

·        Stage 5: Immersion

·        Stage 6: Coaching & Performance Management

·        Stage 7: Separation

We invite you to walk with us as we work through the stages and steps in 2021 to ensure every step in the team member experience and link in the team chain is as strong as possible.

Wishing you continued growth and renewed hope for 2021 as you and your Team (no matter the size!) change our world.
